“Trust feels steady until it isn't. A documented plan holds up when comfort alone doesn't. Deric Ned on the one question every investor should be able to answer before retirement.”
“A plan tells you what to do. A receipt shows the working underneath it. Deric Ned on the fee layer nobody puts on your statement, and the one question to ask about it.”
“Most people think that if I just buy and hold, the market will always come back. And that's true. But when you're 60, that rule doesn't apply anymore because you don't have a runway to wait that out.”
“They think doing nothing is safer than making a decision, when doing nothing is a decision, and it's usually the wrong decision.”
“Deric Ned’s position is straightforward: the most useful thing you can know about any financial professional isn’t their credentials or their track record. It’s how they get paid.”
“My base case for June is $4,650 to $4,750. If the Iran situation escalates or the dollar rolls over, $4,800 plus is in play. I can't really see a world or solid reason for gold breaking below that level with conviction.”
“Silver could retest $90/oz if Middle East tensions ease and the US dollar weakens, while a hawkish Federal Reserve pivot would bring $70/oz into view. Solar and AI infrastructure demand provides a structural floor.”

I am Deric Scott Ned. I work with folks to build income plans and mitigate the risks every American faces in today's ever-changing world. I am not a "product" guy. I focus on understanding your wants and needs in depth by building a personal 1:1 relationship with you. During that relationship-building, solutions naturally bubble to the top. I learned early on in my life that there is no silver bullet and that true diversification means having multiple asset classes, not just a lot of different pieces of paper from a lot of different familiar-feeling companies.
If you are within ten years of retirement and you are not sure your plan will hold up, you are right to be skeptical. Most of the plans I review were not built to hold up. They were built to be sold.
I have spent more than twenty years working with finances. Every recommendation I make is measured against one question: Is this in the client's Best Interest? That is the practice.

Read Recent WritingThe word “fiduciary” gets used loosely. The legal definition is narrow, the suitability standard is wider, and the Best Interest standard sits in between. Here is what each one actually means for the advice you are getting.
Read the articleMost articles on gold in retirement either sell you the metals or sell you the fear. This one walks through the actual questions a thoughtful person should be able to answer before any gold is purchased.
Read the articleMost of what people get wrong about retirement is preventable. A single honest conversation, a decade earlier, would have been enough. The work I do with clients always starts the same way. A conversation where we get to truly know each other. No product pitches EVER. If any of this sounds like what you have been looking for, I would be glad to talk.
